Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AskBarny ("AskBarny", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services at askbarny.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
- Content you provide. The prompts you type, brand details you add (colors, fonts, logos), and the graphics and captions generated for you.
- Payment information. Purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number — Stripe handles it and shares only limited details (such as the last four digits and billing status).
- Usage and device data. Basic analytics such as pages viewed, actions taken, approximate location, and device/browser type.
- Marketing attribution. If you arrive from an ad or campaign link, we may store the campaign parameters (UTM tags) to understand how you found us.
How we use your information
- To operate the Service, generate your posts and captions, and manage your account.
- To process payments, subscriptions, and credit purchases.
- To communicate with you about your account, security, and important updates.
- To measure and improve the Service, and to measure the performance of our advertising.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues, and to comply with the law.
Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are essential for the Service (such as keeping you signed in), plus analytics and advertising technologies. In particular, we use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Google — sign-in (if you choose it).
- Meta — advertising measurement (Pixel).
- Our AI provider — to generate the copy and graphics from your prompts.
- Vercel — website hosting.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time (see "Your rights" below), subject to legal obligations we may have to retain certain records.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@askbarny.com.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above.
